An illustrated podcast by Markus Draper
May 17th 2024 – EXTENDED UNTIL March 16th 2025
Albertinum, Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden
Through the generous initiative of a private sponsor, the work “Haus in der Nähe eines großen Waldes” was acquired for the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden. It is currently on display in the Albertinum.
Markus Draper lets a fly tell the story of how the Soviet secret service (KGB) was linked to the reform movements in the USSR. At the center of the story is the house of the former KGB headquarters in Dresden at Angelikastrasse 4, which became famous as the former workplace of the young secret service agent Vladimir Putin. Based on the realization that “truth” is always a construct of history, historically accurate research is reinterpreted as an artistic means to create a “fairy tale”.
